Treasure Cot has been home to some serious Treasure Beach history. To begin, this sweet, two bedroom/two bathroom cottage was built by Joyce and Basil Densham, Sally Henzell’s parents, back in the 1940s. Today, the cottage retains its original charm but with all modern amenities. Best of all, Treasure Cot sits directly on the beach, steps from some of the area’s best swimming, a few minutes walk from Jakes. Perhaps this was what appealed to author Alex Haley when, back in the 1970s, he wrote his masterpiece—Roots: The Saga of an American Family—while ensconced in this very villa.
